Welcome to the forum @Just ryde

I hadn't noticed, but Service History is no longer available on the XT2. At least, I cannot find it. I never used it - I keep more accurate records elsewhere - somewhere that isn't going to get deleted when I need to reset the XT2.

The Home Screen:
  • You cannot change the buttons on the Home screen on the XT2 or on the XT1.
The Apps screen
  • can be configured on both devices, but you cannot add or remove buttons. By 'configured' - I mean that you can move items around - long press the item you want and slide it up or down. So you can get the ones that you will not use at the bottom and your most commonly used 8 items on the first screen.
Where To ? Screen:
  • You can personalise the "Where To ?" screen to show a Favourite search, a category, and/or a Waypoint. Where To ? -> Personalise. Garmin calls these 'Shortcuts'. The manual says that you can have 36 of these shortcuts under the "Where To ?" Heading. Again, these entries can be moved around the screen. In landscape view the XT2 shows 8 items - 4 rows of 2 columns. In portrait view it shown 5 items in one column.
Some tips with the XT2 if you do not plan your routes using the Tread App:
  • For now, at least, avoid setting up the synchronise with the Tread App if you youse GPX files for your routes.
    If you use GPX files for your planned routes, after you have imported a route eg MyRoute - make a copy (from the spanner), and call it eg @MyRoute.
  • @MyRoute will behave properly if you have to deviate from the plotted route - ie it will work out a way to the next route point, rather than insisting that you go back the way that you have come.
  • The XT2, like the XT, prefers to head for faster roads. So plnety of shaping points to keep it one the road that youw ant to ride - OR - simply create a track when you cretae a route and display that as well as the route itself. If the route deviates - the track will show where you intended to ride, and with the @MyRoute copied version, the XT2 will eventually recalculate.

    Eventually = when the XT2 decides that the way ahead is faster than the original route.

Just ask if you are wondering what these comments are all about.
Have owned Zumo 550, 660 == Now have Zumo XT2, XT, 595, 590, Headache
Use Basecamp (mainly), MyRouteApp (sometimes), Competent with Tread for XT2, Can use Explore for XT - but it offers nothing that I want !
