Update.

I received an email yesterday from product support thanking me for the very informative videos, but wanting me to send fresh tread app logs.

I have removed and reinstalled Tread at least 4 times since I created that video - trying to sort out a way forward without using Tread at all. I assume that the logs are deleted as well as the app.
I wonder what they are hoping to find that wasn't in the original logs that I sent. ?

So I guess I have to get Tread working again and repeat the test. At least I wont have to video it, and I have the video to remind me what I did. Perhaps that was the problem - I must have had a few attempts at recording the video, the logs will be confused.
Have owned Zumo 550, 660 == Now have Zumo XT2, XT, 595, 590, Headache
Use Basecamp (mainly), MyRouteApp (sometimes), Competent with Tread for XT2, Can use Explore for XT - but it offers nothing that I want !

Same in my case. After Tread App log, they asked me to make a log recording with the XT2 (just bluetooth), through a hidden programmer menu, triggering a recording and replicating the bug. I have been waiting for a response from Garmin engineering for almost 10 days. 😰

Re: Zumo XT2, Phone Calls and Tread - Reported problem

I thought that I would update on this issue of my Android Phone / XT2 hanging onto a phone call after the call has terminated. There was no way of closing the phone call down. Eventually the BT connection would break and shortly after, headset, phone and XT2 would re-connect again.

This seemed to be a Tread related issues, as it never happened when the Tread app was no installed.

I have provided various log files - automatically generated by the XT2 and automatically generated by the Android phone. They seem to be working on it at Garmin

In the meantime - we got rid of our landline and replaced it with Fibre - so we have no house phone any more, and needed to get a pair of similar phones. So I bought two brand new Samsung Android phones. My old Android is onloy 4 years old and was running the latest (for it) Android 12. My new phone came out less than a year ago and is running Android 14, and has quite a few different features.

I performed the same test as in the video with the new phone paired to the XT2. I could not get it to go wrong !

I also noticed something else - that didn't work on the old phone -'cos phone calls didn't work. When a call is in progress, the left hand screen below is shown.

This is me using two phones, calling myself. My old Samsung is the A41, and I am calling my new Samsung A35. The A35 is connected by BT to the XT2 and the XT2 is connected by BT to the headset.

When the call comes through the message 'Call in Progress on Navigator' appears - outlined in Green on my left hand side image. I've never bothered with this before - I don't know if that also appeared on the XT1. I know it didn't do anything when I pressed it when carrying out the above tests.

When the screen display shows this - the call is directed to the XT2 and the XT2 directs it to the headset.

If you press that 'button' that is outlined in Green - that that changes. The call is now transferred back to the phone itself. No sound comes through the earphones in the helmet, and the voice from microphone in the headset can not be heard at the other phone. Instead, the phone in your jacket pocket is now talking to the caller.

The second screen shows that Call is in Progress on John's A35. This is the phone that I pair with the XT2. Except that it is no longer paired.
Press that again, and apiring returns to the headset.

I'm wondering if this has any significance to the issue with the BT being broken in another thread. If there is a bit of grease or water on the screen, that button could be being 'pressed' repeatedly - breaking the BT connection.

Just a thought. I'll post in that thread too viewtopic.php?p=24335#p24335
