Since it is February, I thought this was a good time to update the GPS and maps, etc. before I start mapping some routes for this year's riding season.
After I connected it to the Express and updated everything, I got the latest map for the GPS and basecamp.
Once I disconnected from the cable, it rebooted and got stuck at the AGREE screen. I powered off and on and it got stuck at the copyright screen.
Been there ever since.
I have tried all of the steps that I could find online to hard reset the device.
Press and hold the power for 12 seconds as listed in the manual.
Press and hold for 30 seconds.
Connect to the bike's cradle.
Let battery die and then restart.
Press power while holding lower right corner.
Press power then hold lower right corner after initial splash but before copyright splash.
Connect to computer with USB cable.
Connect to wall power, not computer.
I did see something somewhere about using the usb to car plug and not the wall plug that might make a difference but I'm not sure where that is or why it would be different than the bike cradle.
Any ideas to save this from becoming a paperweight would be appreciated.

Re: Zumo 395 Stuck at Copyright screen
for power, i use a wall plug charger that's rated 5 volts 2.1 amps output with usb-a at the wall charger to miniUSB to the Zumo 396, charge up the battery again because low battery leven on the 396 can be the problem

Have you read the "395LM stuck in boot loop" conversation? Are your symptoms the same?
https://www.zumouserforums.co.uk/viewtopic.php?t=1442
If you can't find the system files and software mentioned in the conversation, I might have them somewhere.

Re: Zumo 395 Stuck at Copyright screen
I reviewed that page and the linked pages around it.
No joy.
As soon an I connect the USB cable to the laptop, there is a short beep, (as if it is connecting), then a second lower beep, (like disconnecting).
And nothing.
I cannot get a drive letter in Windows Explorer,
Nothing in Garmin Express
Nothing in Basecamp
I've powered down,
reset
let the battery die
fully recharge,
On the 395 Stuck in Boot Mode page, there is mention by jfheath » 19 Sep 2021 02:06 of some pre-boot menu to get into and firmware fix etc., but no details on how to get there. I did some searching and don't see any other posts that would include this info.

Same thing happened to me on my Mac.firstr8 wrote: ↑27 Feb 2025 19:43 Since it is February, I thought this was a good time to update the GPS and maps, etc. before I start mapping some routes for this year's riding season.

The Zumo got stuck on the agree screen and after I did all the same things you did it was stuck on the initial screen.
After doing all this I sent a note to a repair shop about the issue and he was sure it could be repaired.
After repair I now have a working Zumo but it will not connect to my newest Mac with the latest operating system but I can use it with my older one which by the Apple forum is an issue.

If you don't mind me asking,
Who did you use and what did it cost?
Thanks

Chris is very good, and generally reasonably priced. I have sent several different Garmin GPS devices to him for various repairs. Always good results.

I had a few of those Palm units in the day until they made me take the calendar application off my work computer.
